What are the commonly used display interfaces?

- Nov 08, 2018-

1.VGA interface is one of our common interfaces. It has been adopted since the CRT era. It is a chromatic aberration analog transmission interface, D-port, which has 15 holes on it and transmits different signals. In addition, VGA interface is also called D-Subinterface.

Characteristics: ① Theoretically, it can support 2048x1536 resolution screen transmission. ②Because VGA is analog signal transmission, it is easy to be disturbed and signal conversion is easy to cause signal loss. ③ at 1080P resolution, the user can feel the loss of the picture clearly through the naked eye. ④1080P resolution is recommended for the following display.

VGA is the most widely used display interface at present. Nearly all low-end displays have VGA interface, but because of its obvious shortcomings, high resolution can not achieve the refresh rate and only image input without sound input, which makes it difficult to play a role in high-end displays.

2. DVI, that is, digital video interface. It is an interface standard introduced by DDWG Digital Display Working Group in 1999, which is composed of Intel, Compaq, HP and Fujitsu. The complexity of DVI interface is mainly divided into three categories, DVI-A, DVI-D and DVI-I. DVI-D and DVI-I also have single channel and dual channels.

DVI-A, analog interface, used to transfer VGA, has been discarded. DVI-A, digital interface, divided into single channel (18+1) and dual channel (24+1) two. It is not transferable to VGA, nor can it use the adapter. DVI-I, compatible with analog and digital interfaces, can be said to be a combination of A and D, can be transferred to VGA, but need a adapter.

Characteristic:

① It can only transmit images, support RGB signal transmission with limited resolution of 2 bits and only 8 bits. For some broader gamut displays, it supports imperfect. ② The interface is relatively large and the efficiency is low. It can not be applied to devices such as SuperBen ③The compatibility of devices is relatively general, especially flat panel TV.

DVI transmits digital signals. Without any conversion, digital image information will be directly transmitted to the display device, thus reducing the cumbersome conversion process from digital to analog to digital, and greatly saving time. Therefore, it is faster and can effectively eliminate the shadow phenomenon, and uses DVI for data transmission. The number is not fading, the color is more pure and more realistic. At present, it is also widely used.

3. HDMI is one of the most common interfaces in our daily life. It is widely used in home multimedia devices.

High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is a digital video/audio interface technology. It is a special digital interface suitable for image transmission. It can transmit audio and video signals at the same time. The maximum data transmission speed is 2.25GB/s.

DP and HDMI interface comparison:

Advantages of HDMI: There are many products supporting HDMI. At present, the mainstream disadvantage is that the compatibility of PC support is not good enough to support 3 or 6 screen multi-screen output.

DP advantage: PC supports perfect, supports 3 screen to 6 screen output disadvantage: coming out late, not mainstream.
