Is the barcode printer's transmission speed related to the interface?

Is the barcode printer's transmission speed related to the interface? Yes, the bar code printer is divided into 5 kinds of interfaces: serial port, parallel port, USB port, network port and PS/2. The USB interface output speed is the fastest, and it supports hot swap.

Different interface options, the print output speed is also different.

1, serial port

The serial port is called the serial interface. The PC usually has two serial ports COM 1 and COM 2 . The serial port is different from the parallel port in that its data and control information are transmitted one by one. This speed will be slower, but the transmission interval is longer than the parallel port, so if you want to communicate at a longer interval, you should use the serial port.

2. Parallel interface (parallel port)

The parallel interface, also referred to as "parallel port", is an enhanced bidirectional parallel transmission interface. The advantage is that there is no need to use other cards in the PC. The number of connections is not limited (as long as you have enough ports). The installation and use of the device is easy. The maximum transmission speed is 1.5Mbps. The so-called "parallel" means that 8-bit data is simultaneously transmitted through the parallel line, so that the data transfer speed is greatly improved. However, the length of the parallel transmission line is limited. As the length increases, the interference increases and it is easy to make mistakes.

3, USB interface

The full name of USB is Universal Serial Bus. USB supports hot-plugging and plug-and-play advantages. Therefore, the USB interface has become the most important interface method for electronic products such as MP3s and digital cameras. The change brought about by the use of USB port for barcode printer applications is a significant increase in speed. The USB interface provides a connection speed of 12 Mbps, which is more than 10 times faster than the parallel port speed. At this speed, the file transfer time is greatly reduced.

4, network port

Network port is RJ45 network port, the printer supports network printing. This means that as long as the access to the LAN, set up its IP, sharing, network protocols, etc., and then set up the same network under the need to connect to print the computer, you can transfer through the network, directly print out the data transfered from the computer. The biggest advantage of network port printing is that it allows multiple computers to share the same printer, and the printing speed is fast. Especially when printing large amounts of data with complex and high-precision pictures, the advantages are particularly obvious.

5, PS/2 interface

PS/2 is one of the common interfaces on earlier computers. It is used for mouse, keyboard and other devices. The connector is smaller in packaging and still uses a bi-directional serial communication protocol and provides an optional third set of keyboard scan codes.
