How to reduce the scratches on the print head of the barcode printer
1. Clean the printhead frequently and use a high-quality, smooth, back-coated thermal transfer ribbon to reduce friction.
2. Minimize printing head pressure and printing temperature.
3. Make sure the ribbon width is wider than the label to prevent the exposed printhead from being scratched by the label.
4. Often do printing head maintenance
The dirt caused by the back layer of the ribbon--the print head is contaminated by the thermal paper and the thermal transfer ribbon. Contaminants accumulate on the print head needle to cause heat transfer obstacles and affect the quality of the printed image. The increase in contamination gradually causes the print quality to deteriorate. It may look dull or damage the print pin.
In order to avoid dirt caused by the backing of the ribbon, thermal transfer ribbons should be provided with a back layer protection. This ribbon needs to refer to a non-adhesive ribbon, which has a static and more lubricating effect.
