How to Determine and Solve Caused by a Memory fault

The memory is one of the main hardware of pos machine. Once failed, the pos cash register cannot work. How can we determine if it is caused by a memory failure? How can we do? If it is caused by a memory fault.

   (1) Pos equipemtn No display

This type of memory module failure ,usually is caused by poor contact between the memory module and the motherboard memory slot. You can use the eraser to wipe the gold finger on the back and forth to solve the problem (do not use alcohol, etc.), and It can also cause such failures., if there is memory damage or Problems with motherboard memory slots. The main unit speakers will generally beep for a long time (for Award Bios), casue the memory module causing no display failure.

   (2) Windows registry is often damaged for no reason, prompting the user to restore

Such failures are generally caused by poor memory , it is difficult to repair, need to use a new good Memory.

   (3) Pos systems often automatically enter safe mode

Such failures generally are caused by incompatibility between the motherboard and memory modules or poor quality of memory modules. High-frequency memory is used on some motherboards that do not support this frequency memory module, we can try to reduce memory reads within CMOS settings. See if speed can solve the problem, if not, only replace the memory.

   (4) The Pos terminal suddenly crashes

Usually, Such failures is caused by using of several memory chips of different chips, which cause a time lag as the difference in speed of each memory module. This can be resolved by lowering the memory speed within the CMOS settings. Otherwise, only the same type of memory can be solved . Another possibility reasom is that the memory module is not compatible with the motherboard. This type of phenomenon is generally rare. In addition, it maybe a bad contact between the memory and the motherboard that causes the pos cash register to suddenly crash.

   (5) The system resources reduced after the memory increased

This phenomenon usually is caused by incompatibility between the motherboard and the memory. Try to set the memory speed to a low level.

   (6) Insufficient memory prompts when the pos runs some software

Generally, this phenomenon is caused by the lack of space on the system disk. You can delete some useless files and leave more space. Normally, it should be keep the space around 300M.
